South Shore Earth Day activities to start this week


South Shore towns are marking Earth Day with community cleanups and educational activities. 


The Quincy Department of Natural Resources and Neponset River Watershed Association will host a public presentation via Zoom at noon on Thursday, April 22. The presentation will cover the importance of stormwater management, water pollution prevention tips, and information about ongoing water quality improvement projects in Quincy. Quincy For Transformative Change will host a day of drop-in activities and environmental clean up from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 22 in the parking lot of the Snug Harbor Elementary School, 333 Palmer St. A clean-up will be held at 11 a.m., followed by a bring-your-own picnic lunch, art activities, parade, “kids protest” and an educational lecture. For more information, visit
