Bayer sells its professional activity in environmental sciences
Bayer says that she will give up her professional activity in environmental sciences to concentrate on her basic agricultural activity. In the United States, this business unit includes pest control and public health, turf and ornamentals management, and vegetation management.
The company has appointed Gilles Galliou to lead professional activity in environmental sciences and divestment efforts, effective March 1. The company will be based in Cary, North Carolina, effective June 1. Galliou is currently responsible for the commercial operations of Bayer Vegetable Seeds Americas. He is also chairman of the board of directors of RISE (Responsible industry for a healthy environment), a national association representing manufacturers, formulators, distributors and other industry leaders in pesticides and specialty fertilizers.
The move was made to “accelerate the implementation of the strategy of its Crop Science division,” the company said in a statement.
Changes to the Crop Science division leadership team include:
